A common problem with stock M4 grips is the screws used to attach the motor plate are often coarse thread and screwed directly into the plastic grip. After removing and inserting these screws several times or even once if overtightened these plastic threads can strip out and you'll have no way to hold the motor in. To solve this problem these grips have brass threaded inserts molded into the plastic and use fine thread machine screws. This means the motor plate can be removed and replaced without any risk of stripping the screws. These appear to be made from glass filled nylon and are quite finely cast with very little imperfections. The base plate is cast metal.
